Well, when
I saw "La Boeuf" I assumed that with an ox "on the roof" that it would be
a good place for some meat. Indeed, the one guy in our party who ordered
the rib-eye was thrilled. But go here for a fantastic casual seafood meal.
I loved oysters and there were a wide assortment on the menu. But my
favorites (les huitres Guilleardeau) were missing. No problem. When I
ordered two dozen of these babies I got the immediate respect of the
waiter. Unfortunately they are the most expensive oysters around, so we
managed to jack up our bill that night. But overall the place is
reasonable given a) it is fantastic and b) the location is just off the
Champs Elysees near the Arc de Triomphe. We have gone there on practically
every subsequent visit to Paris. If the Guilleardu are rich for your
wallet try the claires fins. For non oyster lovers go for the lobster
salad. The sole is magnificent.
Finally, go hungry so you can save room for magnificent desserts. Bon
appetit. |
