Maxim's Paris
The legend of Maxim's began in
1893 when Maxime Gaillard, a simple waiter, opened a bistro, small as a
cork ... After a difficult start he
managed thanks to Irma de Montigny to make his bistro a place to be seen !
Eugene Cornuché succeed to Maxime Gaillard to create the
legend that Maxim’s is today : He turned the bistro into
an Art Nouveau masterpiece by calling upon the artists in
vogue from the ‘School of Nancy’. Famous people used to
dine here : Cocteau at the beginning of the XXth century,
Brigitte Bardot in the seventies, John Travolta, Jeanne
Moreau, Barbara Streisand, Barbara Hendrix, Kiri te Kanawa
or Pierre Cardin who took the place over in 1981... Today
Maxim's restaurant is a definitive place to see -For decor
